About Us
Collaboration
The Canadian Peripheral Nerve Research Collaborative was founded in 2018 with the goal of enhancing nerve regeneration and functional outcomes in patients following peripheral nerve injury. By bringing researchers with diverse skill sets across Canada together, our vision is to bring about radical improvement in functional recovery in these patients through harnessing the synergy between basic scientists and clinical researchers and by providing a direct translational path from bench to bedside.
Innovation
Through collaborations between peripheral nerve injury centres and partnerships between research labs and industry, the Collaborative has already produced a number of novel innovations in enhancing nerve regrowth. These early successes set the stage for launching a national research symposium that will take place later this year to systematically elevate the caliber and breadth of the interdisciplinary collaborations.

We will continue to lay a solid foundation and use it as a springboard to broaden the partnerships between researchers in the field with provincial and federal governmental agencies and industry. Together with patients and family, this will provide the substrates needed to build a brighter future for all Canadians.
